Update on the ice situation in the Port of Aarhus, and cancellation of the fast ferry Sælvig – Aarhus route

The ice situation in the Port of Aarhus has worsened significantly over the weekend, and the fast ferry LILLEØRE is therefore canceling all departures between Sælvig and Aarhus until and including Wednesday, February 18, due to ice in the entire port basin in the Port of Aarhus and outside the port. The port basin is now so packed with ice that unfortunately there are long prospects for Lilleøre to be operational again. In the coming weekend, the temperature in Aarhus will drop to around -8 degrees, and it is expected that the ice will pack in further. We are continuously assessing the situation and will make an announcement again on Tuesday, February 17 around noon, regarding the possibility of resuming sailing with LILLEØRE. Tickets for the affected departures will be cancelled and refunded automatically. A commuter bus will be introduced for pedestrians Monday to Friday, departing from Hou at 6:45 a.m. and from the ferry berth at Dokk1 in Aarhus at 4:00 p.m. It is not possible to bring bicycles on the bus. Registration is required no later than the day before at 2:00 PM by email to tilsamsoe@samsoe.dk or by phone at 70225900 The Sælvig – Hou route with the PRINCESSE ISABELLA is not affected by the ice. Samsø Rederi apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause you.
